Biography
When Anique Radiant Heart steps out on stage and begins to sing, the audience sits back and relaxes…they know they are about to be entertained royally.
Over the many years of her singing career, there has been something about the style and presence of this songstress which people call "star quality". These days, in her sixties, Anique emanates a grace and poise grounded by her deep connection to Spirit as well.
When she came out, she was amazed to see her little 3 year old daughter, entertaining a small group of rapt teachers, parents and secretaries, by standing on top of the coffee table and singing a classic Edith Piaff song "Je ne Regrette Rien" along with the radio! Aimee knew from that moment on that her daughter Anique was destined to be a singer.
Soon, Anique was singing at all the family "do's" - weddings, barmitzvas, engagements, anniversaries and birthdays were all an opportunity for the family elders to listen to the golden voice of their little Anique. When she was 13, Anique entered Channel TCN 9 talent show "Opportunity Knocks" and won! There followed appearances on "Saturday Date" and "Bandstand" and other popular musical shows of the era.
However, because of Anique's cultural background, when she approached marriageable age, the singing had to stop. At the time, Anique was happy to let go of her singing persona to take up duties as a wife. But she never stopped singing. When she was pregnant with her first son Benjamin, Anique entered a talent quest at St, George Leagues Club because she wanted to buy a clothes dryer - a real luxury back in those days. Needless to say, she won that talent quest and went on to become a well known fixture in the Sydney clubs.
Her next album, "LOVER MINE" co-written with David Calaby won the BASF SUNNY (Equivalent to State ARIA's) Award for best album in 3 categories.
Then came her "piece of resistance" the jazz album "HOT AND MELLOW" with stars of Australia jazz Roger Frampton (now deceased and a ledgend well remebered)on keys, John Zwartz on bass and Warren Trout Jr on drums. This album is outstanding and has won much acclaim within jazz circles, and now is a collectors item.
She then recorded the sound track to a musical she starred in called "LES CLICHES" a humorous look at lesbian community. Also during this period, Aniue began to deepen her Spiritual path and as a service to her community, wrote and published a monthly journal called "Invoking the Godddess". This journal was mailed out to her group of friends and aquaintances free of charge. By 1996, her mailing list had grown to several hundred and Anique organised the first Goddess Festival in Australia, also called "Invoking the Goddess". The festival was an instant hit, and continued annually until 2002.
Her album, "INVOKING THE GODDESS" is a stunning collection of original spiritual music, written by Anique to support her work as Priestess of the Goddess and Singer of the Sacred Songs of the Temple. Released in 2003, this profound album is now in hundreds of homes where beautiful, healing music is appreciated. This extraordinary work is the first in a trilogy of albums celebrating the Goddess. The second, "EMBRACING THE GODDESS" was released in 2005. A wondrous collection of devotional songs to the great Feminine Divine, this inspirational CD has the amazing "SINGING HER PRAISE" as the title track. Leaders from the womens sprituality movement the world over, including Kathy Jones, (UK) Brooke Medicine Eagle (US) and the late great Monica Sjoo, have given their words of support and love which are published on the cover. The third in the trilogy, "LIVING IN THE GODDESS LIGHT" are songs and chants needed to live a deep spiritual life, as well as chants of affirmation to be used in a Temple/teaching situation. Anique worked on this CD with David Calaby, and launched this CD at the Glastonbury Goddess Conference 2008 and received a standing ovation and much positive critical acclaim. It is now available through this web site.
In 2005 Anique set up the Australian Goddess Temple, dedicated to all who worship the sacred feminine Divine. And for the past 15 years, she has travelled the world, sharing her music and her wisdom as a Crone Priestess of the Goddess. When asked how she sees her work as a singer today, Anique replies:
"I believe we are all gifted by the Divine Mother with one particularly obvious gift. Our Goddess given gift I suppose. And our purpose in this lifetime, among others, is to optimise and develop that gift to the best of our ability. I was blessed with a miraculous voice and the ability to sing like an angel. I now know deep in my heart that my voice and singing opens the heart centre and facilitates healing. When the heart is open, I can then teach gently - whether it be from the stage or in the workshop. In this way, I can do what I can to create a community which is based on the values of compassion and trust. A community which is "living in the Light". This is what my life and my singing are dedicated to in this moment in time."

| If you talk with Anique's mother, Aimee, she will laughingly tell you that Anique came out of the womb singing. She tells the story of the day she took Anique's older sister to school for the first day. She had to leave Anique in the waiting room under the watchful eye of the secretary while she went in to see the headmistress. | ![]() |
